Matthew's 20 years of practice has emphasized water rights, mining and land use issues. During his career, Matthew has represented numerous governmental entities, landowners, developers, private parties, and mining companies throughout the state.
Matthew has broad experience relating to water rights and water quality issues. He has represented numerous private clients and special districts on matters relating to water rights, groundwater,
water quality, streambed alterations, fishery issues, and wetland mitigation. Matthew's practice includes water supply and water quality issues relating to mining operations.
Matthew also has extensive experience with mining issues throughout the state of California including permitting and reclamation on both private and federal lands. Matthew's exprience includes practice before the Interior Board of Land Appeals, federal and state courts.
Matthew has represented clients on a variety of matters before the State Water Resources Control Board, The State Mining and Geology Board, The Public Utilities Commission, The Reclamation Board, Regional Water Quality Control Boards, The Department of Fish and Game, and The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Matthew's background includes broad litigation experience including contract disputes, real estate disputes, and general business disputes. Matthew practices before both state and federal courts throughout the State.
Matthew received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
